The Computer Science of our College has Entered the “World First-class Discipline” List
Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (2020) was officially released by Shanghai University of Science and Technology recently. The 2020 rankings cover 54 disciplines, covering five major fields of science, engineering, life sciences, medicine and social sciences. More than 1,800 universities from 90 countries and regions have been selected for the ranking, which covers more than 4,000 universities worldwide.
The discipline of Computer Science and Engineering of Shandong University of Finance and Economics ranks NO.301-400 in the “World first-class Discipline“ list. It ranks NO.62-82 in the “National First-class Discipline"”list, and ranks the first among the national finance and economics universities together with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and Southwest University of Finance and Economics.

In recent years, the teachers and students of the college unite as one, forming a strong discipline construction cohesion, and taking a number of effective measures to strengthen discipline construction. First, pay attention to the construction of talent team, vigorously introduce high-level talents, including foreign teachers; Second, expand international cooperation and exchanges, apply open school concept, recruit international students, and gradually improve the quality of faculty and the level of internationalization of disciplines. Third, strengthen scientific research, strengthen the quality of scientific research, encourage the publication of high-level results; Fourth, implement the “Training Plan for Outstanding New IT Personnel”, actively meet major social needs, and deeply integrate the new generation of information technology into industry-university-research projects, thus enhancing the discipline’s reputation.
The Cpllege of Computer Science and Technology now has six provincial-level science and innovation platforms, six provincial-level talent teams, three undergraduate programs, one master’s program and one doctoral program. It is the only international Academy of Chemical Engineering with the characteristics of “financial intelligence” in the economic field. In 2019, major of computer science and technology and digital media technology was approved the “national first-class professional construction site”. In 2020 computer science discipline ranked into the “world first class discipline” list, which makes foundation for college’s goal of “relying on Jinan City, serving for Shandong Province, facing the whole country, planning for One Belt One Road” to establish high level international chemical academy of sciences, making due contributions to the school’s goal of building the nation’s top financial characteristic school.
