The entry of Computer Science of Shandong University of Finance and Economics into the top 1% of ESI disciplines marks the entry of this discipline into the international high-level ranks.This is an important new achievement in the discipline construction of the School of Computer Science and Technology, following the entry of the computer science discipline into the "world-class disciplines" of soft science in 2020-2021.It is also the second discipline of our university to enter the top 1% of ESI ranking after "Engineering", which is another important breakthrough of our university's discipline construction in the opening year of the "14th Five-Year Plan".
ESI contains more than 12,000 academic journals published in SCIE and SSCI in the past ten years and citation data.Due to the broad representation, it has been universally recognized by the world.ESI indicators are used to evaluate the scientific research level of a university (or institution), and even to predict Nobel Prize winners through ESI highly cited scientists. The double first-class construction of China's universities and colleges also commonly takes the number of disciplines with ESI in the top one percent or one thousandth of the world as a construction goal.
