From June 3 to 4, 2023, the 15th Shandong Province College Students' Science and Technology Festival - Computer Application Technology Competition and the 13th Shandong Province ICPC were held in Changqing Campus of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences). After the selection and intensive training for the on-campuscompetition, the college sent 9 official teams, 4 friendly teams and 3 female teams to participate in the competition, which were led by Gao Shanshan and Meng Xianjing, professional teachers of the college.
From June 3 to 4, 2023, the 15th Shandong Province College Students' Science and Technology Festival - Computer Application Technology Competition and the 13th Shandong Province ICPC were held in Changqing Campus of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences). After the selection and intensive training for the on-campuscompetition, the college sent 9 official teams, 4 friendly teams and 3 female teams to participate in the competition, which were led by Gao Shanshan and Meng Xianjing, professional teachers of the college.
The official tournament started on the morning of June 4, and after five hours of exciting competition, two teams finally won the Silver Award and three teams won the Bronze Award. This is the best result ever achieved by the College in this event.
The competition was ordered by the SUA Programming Competition Proposition Group, a professional programming proposition group in China, with a high degree of differentiation of the test questions. 277 teams from 55 universities in Shandong Province participated in this event, fully demonstrating the vigor and wisdom of contemporary college students. The competition aims to stimulate students' interest in learning professional knowledge and skills in the field of computer science, encourage students to take the initiative to flexibly apply computer knowledge and skills to solve practical problems, effectively improve algorithm design, logical reasoning, mathematical modeling, programming implementation and computer system capabilities, and cultivate a sense of teamwork, challenge spirit and innovation ability.
International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is an annual competition sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) to demonstrate college students' innovation, teamwork, and ability to write programs, analyze and solve problems under pressure. Its history can be traced back to 1970. After more than 50 years of development, ICPC has become the most influential university computer competition in the world, and is regarded as the Olympiad in the field of computing. The competition is included in the Research on Evaluation and Management System of Colleges and Universities by the Chinese Society of Higher Education, and it is an important competition index for the evaluation of innovative talents cultivation and disciplinary competitions in Chinese colleges and universities. Shandong ICPC College Student Programming Contest is the selection stage of the provincial competition, and it is the official competition authorized by the ICPC Asia Regional Competition Organizing Committee. With the strong support of Shandong Computer Society, Shandong ICPC Student Programming Contest has been held for 13 times, and the contest has already had a considerable scale and social influence. All the members of the team who won the gold and silver prizes in the competition will get the internship offer certificates from famous enterprises at home and abroad.
