School of Computer Science and Technology of Shandong University of Finance and Economics was formerly known as the “Economic Information Major” established in 1990. After nearly 30 years of development, today’s college has a first-class master’s degree in computer science and technology, a Ph.D. in data mining and visualization. The School of Computer Science and Technology always adheres to the mission of “high starting point, high standards, high quality and distinctive features”, vigorously implements the “New IT Excellence Talents Training Program”, strengthens “financial intelligence” features, and services for new and old kinetic energy conversion. In recent years, the college has developed rapidly. There are 106 faculty members and 87 full-time teachers, including 20 professors and 38 associate professors; 6 doctoral supervisors, 23 master tutors, 1 foreign professional teacher, and 5 well-known specially-appointed professors from 985,211 and overseas (outside) universities. We have formed a team of teachers who are led by well-known professors, led by academic professors, young doctors as backbones, and foreign professional teachers.
In recent years, the school has undertaken 1 significant international exchange and cooperation project of the National Natural Science Foundation, more than 30 national-level projects, 1 key project of the Ministry of Education, and more than 30 provincial-level projects. More than 800 papers were published in important academic journals and conferences, among which more than 650 were searched by SCI/EI. More than 10 professional textbooks were published. The school was awarded 1 first prize and 1 second prize of Science and Technology Progress by the Ministry of Education, and 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and several third prizes of Shandong Science and Technology Progress Award. The school also received more than 20 other awards of ministry and province, and more than 20 invention patents.
6. Colorful campus cultural activities
There are all kinds of associations, like the Youth League Committee and the School Computer Association, the ACM Society, the Creation and Practice Center, and so on. We hold the “Computer Culture Festival” every year, and carry out quality development and academic lectures of special topics and professional competition around the theme of “Popularization, Improvement, Innovation and Application”. Series of colorful activities provide a stage for students to demonstrate their hands-on ability. In the past three years, it has been recommended to participate in and be awarded with more than 500 awards at the provincial level and above, and more than 100 national awards. The development of the series of activities has created a strong scientific and cultural atmosphere and played a positive role in the prosperity and development of the university culture. Due to its strong participation and wide spread, the event has played an active role in creating a strong scientific and technological atmosphere, prospering and developing university culture.
